SUSTAINABILITY

Sustainability

Sustainability at Poddar Group is less about statements and more about how the businesses actually run — from turning grain into cleaner fuel to sourcing responsibly and using resources with care.

WHERE WE STAND

Substance Over Slogans

A lot of sustainability writing promises more than it can prove. We’d rather do the opposite — describe what the group genuinely does, and be clear about what we’re still working to measure. Where we have verified data, we’ll publish it. Where we don’t yet, we won’t pretend.

What follows is the group’s approach across the areas where an agri and industrial business has real impact.

OUR APPROACH

Where the Group Has Real Impact

The group’s most direct contribution to a cleaner energy mix is its ethanol business. Grain-based ethanol blends into petrol, supports fuel-import substitution, and gives agricultural grain a productive market. Ethanol & Biofuels →

Agriculture connects the group to farmers, traders and the land itself. Responsible sourcing means dealing fairly with suppliers, valuing quality and consistency, and building relationships that hold up over years rather than seasons.

Milling, packaging and ethanol production all use energy, water and raw material. Running them efficiently is good business and good practice at once. The group works to reduce waste and use resources sensibly across its operations.

Responsibility shows up in day-to-day operations — in workplace safety, in meeting the standards that apply to each business, and in the Pratishtha habit of doing things properly.

Where We're Focusing

WHAT'S NEXT

ROOTED IN AGRICULTURE

Part of the Farm Economy

The group’s businesses sit inside India’s agricultural economy, not beside it. Trading commodities, milling grain and producing ethanol all create demand that flows back to the farm sector. A healthy agricultural ecosystem is, quite literally, the foundation the group is built on.

THE PLACES WE WORK

Community Matters

Community is one of the three values the group’s companies carry in the Pratishtha name. The businesses operate in and around communities in Eastern India, and the group recognises a responsibility to the people and places its operations depend on.
